What is a Socket Wrench and a Socket Set?
A socket is an hand tool that can be connected to a handle, with different sizes of drive profile used to grip various screws and nuts. A socket set typically includes various shapes and sizes of drive heads, which can be
swapped on a wrench tool. A high-quality socket set usually contains a full range of standard drive and sizes (including both imperial and metric), along with multiple accessories that can be used for different standard nuts and bolts. Therefore, purchasing
a high-quality, professional, complete socket wrench set (e.g., 150-200 pcs) means that you will rarely encounter a screw or nut that you cannot handle.
Moreover, if you are dealing with a task requiring high torque — in other words, a lot of force is needed to loosen something — a socket will definitely be more convenient than a wrench.
The biggest difference between a socket and a traditional wrench is the ratchet handle. This type of ratchet handle features various designs, allowing the user to apply greater torque to nuts

How to Use a Socket Wrench
To use a socket wrench is easy. Although details may vary between brands, the basic steps are same:1.) Select the Right Socket:
Choose a socket based on the size of the nut you need to tighten or loosen. A complete socket set will typically include many different sizes, so selecting the right socket is often the most challenging part!2.) Verify Hex Size (if the nut is hexagonal):
Knowing whether you are dealing with metric or imperial fasteners will be helpful. If unsure, you can try several sockets that appear to fit to determine the correct size. If you feel too loose, switch to a smaller size.
3.) Avoid Using an Oversized Socket:
Never use an oversized socket, as it may strip the screw, making it difficult to remove in future.4.) Attach the Socket to the Ratchet Handle:
After selecting the appropriate socket, snap it onto the ratchet handle. If the socket's square hole does not match the ratchet handle's square drive, you have selected the wrong size. The major drive sizes are:1/4" (6.3mm)
3/8" (9.5mm)
1/2" (12.7mm)
3/4" (19.0mm)
1" (25.4mm).
5.) Change the Rotation Direction:
Locate the switch on the ratchet handle to set the rotation direction (clockwise or counterclockwise) as needed for tightening or loosening.6.) Just do it:
