Socket wall thickness is reduced to help improve access to fasteners in restricted areas. Thin wall sockets are recommended in difficult to access areas which require low impact force or in low usage frequency situations. This system allows for up to 15% more torque to be applied to the fastener reducing fastener rounding and an advantage to turn worn or rounded fasteners. The extra thin wall impact sockets are forged from the finest chrome molybdenum steel to extend the life of fastener.
